Web Building: Resources from Connections
Of all the forms of Internet media that we discuss, the Web is perhaps the most
complex. At the same time, however, there is probably more information on-line
about Web building than about any other aspect of working with the Net. To
complement this on-line information, we've provided some resources from
Connections.
In Chapter Seventeen, we look at HTML basics. In addition to introducing the
concepts necessary for sucessful Web building, we provide information about some
of the standard HTML commands.
For more information, see
Exercise 17.1: Creating and Linking Pages
In Chapter Eighteen, we expand our discussion of HTML to include elements of page
layout. We begin to look more directly at issues of Web page design and suggest
strategies for presenting information in non-linear ways. For more, see
Exercise 18.1: Revising the Layout of Your
Personal Page
Our Discussion of Browsers and
Standardization Issues
Chapter Nineteen, looks more directly at issues related to Web page design. We
discuss ways of presenting arguments for the Web and address some of the
challenges of composing hypertexts. For more, see
Exercise 19.1: Evaluating a Web Site
Additionally, we have excerpeted some information from Connections and placed it
on-line for you to refer to. Of particular interest may be our excerpts
Tips for Working with Images Argument on the Web Queries
