Newsgroup Resources on the Net

Connections Suggested Newsgroups

We've gone through the thousands of Usenet newsgroups and selected several that we believe will be valuable for composition classes. These aren't necessarily the best newsgroups on the Net, but they all get fairly heavy traffic, and they relate to topics that will broadly be of interest for composition classes. Think of this list as a starting point; a place to go when you're trying to get a sense for the kinds of conversations that take place on Usenet newsgroups. Note that we've linked these groups so that you can read them with your Web browser's newsreader. The interface on these newsreaders is sometimes quite difficult, so if you're having problems we suggest using a local client newsreaders.
