Carol Lynn Martin, Ph.D., is professor of child development at Arizona State University, where she has been for more than 10 years. She is a member of the Society for Research in Child Development, National Council on Family Relations, and American Psychological Society and a fellow of the American Psychological Association. Martin is or has been a member of the editorial boards of several widely known scientific journals, including Developmental Psychology and Child Development. She has written over 50 articles and book chapters, including a co-authored chapter in the new edition of the Handbook of Child Psychology. Most of these publications are in the
areas of gender-role development and the cognitive processes underlying it. She is married to Richard Fabes, whom she met at a professional conference when they were at separate universities, and away from work she enjoys tennis, traveling, reading, and swimming. |
