Report Evaluation


Rate the writing on the following aspects, keeping in mind that 4=excellent, 3=good, 2=fair, and 1=poor. Write comments when appropriate.


If the report is a final project report, it is written so that readers understand the project's context and requirements and demonstrate that the project has been completed as planned. If the report is a researched position paper, it is written so that it will likely change the minds of a wide, heterogeneous group of readers.

The report provides the Level 1/decision-making reader with a summary of the problem, major details and alternatives, and a rationale for the recommendation.

The report follows one of the strongest report conventions: thorough documentation with specific data; facts support the writer's claims.

The documentation--data, principles of interpretation, sources of data, methods of analysis, and justification and rationale for methods--appears where appropriate in the report.

The report pays follows conventional ways of framing the problem and solutions, laying out the arguments, organizing the evidence, and expressing the character of the writer and the organization.
