Just a Click Away: Advertising on the Internet is a college textbook that was written to give students in mass communication and advertising an insight into the exciting new advertising opportunities that are contained in the Internet.  Many things are possible in this new medium that offers interactivity with the audience that can lead not only to awareness but actual purchasing behavior as well.  This is a relatively new endeavor, having started in 1994, but growing rapidly.  No mass communication or advertising major should leave college without a solid understanding of the terminology, possibilities, and limitations of the Internet as an advertising medium.

The nature of this new medium is that change occurs daily.  A regular stand alone textbook is really only the beginning because so much has happened since the authors wrote the book.  The purpose of this web site is to update readers, on a regular basis, about the changes that occur that we could not include at the time the book was printed.

The site is organized by chapters that correspond to the book.  After you finish a chapter, check the Web site to see what has changed.  We intend to offer new examples of advertising by giving you links to exciting and informative sites.  Since we will be updating this site on a regular basis, it is best to check the site on a regular basis.  Each chapter update is organized in the following way: updated information to the text; new examples of advertising; new URLs to explore.
