Configuring Internet Explorer for Allyn & Bacon Newsgroups

1. Open Internet Explorer News: Under the Internet Explorer Go menu, select Read News
2. Change News Options: Under the News menu, select the Options option.
3. Add New News Server: Click on the Server tab in the Options Window.
Click on the Add button in the News server(s) box.
4. Enter Name of News Server (ssnews.prenhall.com): In the News Server Properties window, enter the name of the news server you've been given in the News Server Name field.
Click on the OK button at the bottom of the window.
5. Subscribe to Newsgroup: When Explorer asks if you'd like to subscribe to newsgroups for this server, click on Yes.
6. Select Newsgroups: In the dialog box that appears, highlight the newsgroup you want to access and then click on the Subscribe button to the right.
Repeat for all newsgroups you wish to access.
Note: A small newspaper icon should appear next to each Subscribed newsgroup.
7. Return to Newsreader: Click on the OK button when finished to close the subscription window.
Click on the OK button in the Options window to close it.
Newsgroups can be accessed by selecting them from the Newsgroups pull-down menu.

You have now completed your configuration process for this Newsgroup.
