The DSM-IV Classification for Psychological Disorders
The Diagnostic and Statistical Manual IV
(DSM-IV) is the most widely used means for classifying psychological
disorders. The DSM-IV uses five independent criteria, called axes, for
describing individual psychological disorders. People who undergo
assessment for a psychological disorder by a clinician who uses the
DSM-IV are evaluated on each axis. Your goal in this exercise is to
complete the following sentences using the name of the axis (Axis I,
Axis II, Axis III, Axis IV, or Axis V) that best fits each sentence.
