Knowledge Needed to Produce Meaningful Speech

In order to produce meaningful speech, individuals must have knowledge of (1) the sounds and sound combinations appropriate to their language, (2) the ways in which these sounds can be combined, and (3) the meaning of these sounds and sound combinations.
