Computing Improvement Points

When teachers give grades, they should also report average improvement points for the marking period. In general, high improvement points should be reflected in higher grades. For example, a student who averaged two or more improvement points might increase from a C to a B or a B to an A. Communication to students and parents that effort and improvement are important is critical in making the improvement point system effective.
