- American National Standards Institute. ANSI and ISO standards documents online.
- NSSN: National Resource for Global Standards. Free online information service providing access to bibliographic information for more than 225,000 approved standards.
- International Organization for Standardization: Online ISO. Go to ISO Catalogue, then to International Standards, then to Generalities: Terminology, Standardization, Documentation, and then see Terminology and also Technical Product Docmentation.
- Department of Defense Index of Specifications & Standards (DODISS). Unclassified federal and military specifications, standards, and related standardization documents, and those non-government standards adopted for DoD use.
- International Telecommunication Union. Headquartered in Geneva, Switzerland, the ITU is an international organization within which governments and the private sector coordinate global telecom networks and services.
- National Transportation Communications for ITS Protocol. NTCIP provides a communications standard that ensures the interoperability and interchangeability of traffic control and intelligent transportation systems devices.
- Standards and Standardization Bodies. WWW Virtual Library links to dozens of national and international standards and to the organizations that develop them.
- World Wide Web Consortium (W3C). Founded in October 1994, an international industry consortium for the development of common protocols that promote further evolution of the World Wide Web and ensure its interoperability.
